Tips to look your best at a lingerie or glamour photoshoot
If you have an upcoming lingerie shoot, or a glamour photo shoot, you obviously want to look and feel your best. As a leading glamour photography specialist, I’ve put together a step-by-step guide to preparing for your shoot. Hydrate On the days leading up to your shoot, make sure that you make drinking water a priority. This will ensure that you arrive at your shoot hydrated and as a result, your skin will look clearer and your eyes will look brighter. Avoid alcohol for a few days before the shoot as this can make your skin look dehydrated. Prepare your Skin and Nails A week before your shoot, start exfoliating your skin and using a daily moisturiser. This way your skin will be smooth without any pesky dry areas. You can even bring with you a body cream to put on before the shoot so the skin looks nice and moist (especially on the knees and elbows). Paint your toenails and fingernails (chipped nail polish is a strict no no) or get a professional manicure and pedicure. If you do choose to paint your fingernails and toenails, make sure you use a matching polish for both. Beauty Maintenance Hair removal is a key aspect of preparing for a lingerie shoot. This could involve using a hair removal process such as shaving or waxing to ensure that your legs, bikini and underarms are fuzz-free. Whether you choose to shave or wax, it is wise to do this a couple of days before your shoot to avoid any shaving rashes or burns from a hot wax pot. Clean hair is super important,as this depends a lot how the photos will look in the end result. So wash it a night before or in the morning before coming to the photo shoot. Tanning Your natural skin will photograph better than it will if you use artificial tan and using fake tan comes with the risk of unsightly streaks, orange patches and it can make your skin tone appear uneven. If you do wish to tan, be sure to get it professionally applied. Loose Fitting Clothing You may only be wearing lingerie for your shoot, but what you wear on the day of your shoot can affect the photos and the editing time. For example, tight jeans can leave marks around your waist from the waistband and socks can leave rings around your ankles. Choose loose fitting clothing on the day to avoid any marks!!! Get 8 Hours of Sleep Getting sufficient sleep will ensure that you arrive at your lingerie shoot well rested and will minimise the appearance of dark circles. Have a Light Breakfast Eat a nutritious breakfast before the shoot and focus on protein rather than carb heavy options. Plan your Route It is essential that you arrive at your lingerie shoot in London on time. Plan your route and your method of transport in advance to ensure that you arrive in good time. Always aim to arrive 10 minutes early. I find useful the Citymapper app, it shows the shortest routes to arrive at the destination and also the time schedules. Come with some ideas of poses you want to shoot Looking on the internet or at some magazines to get some inspiration of how to pose is very good idea.I would recommend doing a few screen shots of the poses you liked and to bring them along to the photo shoot. This way you will feel more confident at posing, and of course i will also guide you and tell you how it looks best. Good luck! Krista
